A Word from the Pastor

Good morning, FBC!

We are back in our sermon series titled “Beyond Conversion,” and we are discussing how when we come to Christ we only begin the Christian life. From our conversion we are commanded to grow & deepen our commitment to Jesus. We can’t just expect that growth to naturally happen. We have to be focused & intentional about becoming more & more like Jesus.

Today, we’re taking another step in this journey. The title of the message today is “Beyond Conversion…There is Loving”. There’s no word that should identify us, as God’s Church, quite like the word LOVE. However, I’m so scared that many in our world don’t see it like that. Many have misunderstood God’s Church. They think the church is a place where good people go. They think the church is a gathering of worthy people. Because they know they aren’t good, they refuse to attend. That’s a misunderstanding of the church. The Church isn’t an art gallery filled with perfect saints: it’s a hospital for the hurting.

Let’s listen for God to speak today,

Dr Reeves
