A Word from the Pastor

Good morning, FBC

The heart of this sermon today is to help you discover your spiritual gifts. So what is a spiritual gift?Simply put, it is an extraordinary ability that we cannot acquire ourselves that equips us to do the work of God.

Here are several New Testament truths about gifts that you need to know:

  • The Holy Spirit gives us these gifts. You don’t create them.
  • They are to work together to create a whole. (It’s kind of like the human body. Gifts are like hands, feet, lungs, or eyes. You put them all together and you get an amazing whole.)
  • There are no useless gifts in the body of Christ. Every gift is important.
  • All gifts are for the exclusive use of ministry and the Church.  God never gives them to make us look good!
  • Spiritual gifts can be neglected or perverted.

Today, I pray you will move beyond your conversion and discover your spiritual gifts!

Proud to be your pastor,

Dr. Reeves
