Good morning, FBC Family!

I pray you had a good 4th of July!!

Happy Birthday to the USA!

This morning…We will begin a new sermon series connected to the last sermon I preached before VBS. We spoke about Peter walking to Jesus on the water, and we learned, “If you want to walk on water, you’ve got to get out of the boat!” Well, based on that idea we begin a series today titled, “Get Out of the Boat!”

This evening…the “Take America Back to God” event is finally here! Doors open at 5:00pm, and the event begins at 6:00pm. We are expecting a packed house, so arrive early. Parking will be available at all FBC parking lots, Super One, St. John’s Episcopal Church, and Vera Bank.

We will begin planning for the upcoming fiscal year in the next few weeks. If you would like to give input or submit a recommendation, contact Jeff Fitzhugh. Committees and Ministry Teams should submit recommendations by Sunday, July 24.

Children’s Ministry

Kids Praise

We offer children’s worship during the 11:00am service. Parents should sign in kids on the landing before service or when dismissed. Children can be picked up on the 4^th floor.

Thank You VBS/VBX Workers

We appreciate all all the workers who helped this week. It was a great time, and we saw an impact for the kingdom! Thank you for serving Christ and blessing this church and the children who came in our building. Also, thank you to our VBS Lead Team who helped in planning throughout the year!

Music Ministry

Celebration Choir

Worship team meets Wednesday at 5:15pm in the Sanctuary.

Celebration Choir – Off for Summer break for 5 weeks. Resumes August 16.

Solid Rockers Choir

Rehearsals will resume in the fall.

Body Recall

Each week (M-W-F) we offer a class that emphasizes strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination. The class meets in the FLC at 9 am and is led by

Jimmie Buchanan.

Find a Place to Serve

Good News Cafe

Team members prepare and serve a free hot meal to people in our community, ministering and praying for those who attend.
Meals are served from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm.

Our Good News Café will be taking a break June 19 thru July 10.
Grace Community will be hosting during those weeks.

Good News Club

Team members help lead a Bible club for various CISD elementary schools in the fall and spring.

Training is scheduled for Saturday, August 5
@ 9:00am in Fellowship Hall. Training ends at noon for returning volunteers and goes to 4:00pm for new volunteers. To help, contact Michelle Purifoy

Greeter Ministry

Team members assist families with check-in, collect information from guests, and help guide visitors to the appropriate group.

Safety Team

Team members work to provide a safe environment for church members during worship services and other church events. This team also provides leadership during emergency situations.

Media/Tech Ministry

Team members help coordinate tech support for worship services. We are currently seeking a member to help operate the lights.

Food For Fitness

We have an opening for a team member to prepare meals on Friday every two or three months. Funds are provided. You will need to purchase and prepare the meals. Starts in July. Contact the Church Office if interested.

Guest Services

Team members assist families with check-in, collect information from guests, and help guide visitors to the appropriate class or group.
