A Word from Our Pastor

Good morning, FBC!!!

Last Sunday we waved the checkered flag & supposedly finished the journey in our on-going mini-series on Joseph. But today, we’re going to take a “Victory Lap.” You see, there’s one last issue that we need to deal with before we complete our study of Joseph.

So let’s take a step back and remember the true Biblical definition of success…Success is finding and following God’s will for your life!

Let’s also remember that on life’s road to success, you will encounter plenty of frustrating situations like speed bumps, potholes, stop signs, and detours.

But now in this final lap we’re going to discuss another interesting element of the road…ROAD RAGE!!

Childrens Ministry

Kids Praise

Children’s worship is available in the 11 am service. Parents should sign in kids on the landing before service or when dismissed. Children can be picked up on the 4th floor.

VBS/VBX (July 17-21)

Volunteer training will be Sunday @ 5 pm in the Sanctuary OR Wednesday @ 6 pm on the 4th floor. Kids can still register at the VBS table or with the link below.

Decorating

If you would like to help, we will begin decorating for VBS starting at 9 am tomorrow morning and continue throughout the week. Contact Cathy with any questions.

Prayer Emphasis

Pray that God would provide sufficient volunteers to carry out the VBS mission. Pray for good mental and physical health for all volunteers. Pray that the volunteers would have all the wisdom, skills, and resources required to carry out their God-given tasks in a manner that honors Him.

Student Ministry

VBS Decorations (Mon, July 11)

FBCSM will be helping decorate the church for VBS. Come to the church in the morning and there will be a job for you.

Texas Ranger Game (Wed, July 13)

Tickets are $34 (includes All You Can Eat & drink). We will depart from the Family Life Center at 5:15 pm. The game starts at 7:05pm.

Music Ministry

Celebration Choir

NO rehearsal for the rest of July.

Regular rehearsal will resume Wednesday, August 3.

Solid Rockers Choir

Solid Rockers will not be singing during summer.

Beloved Ladies Ministries

Victoria Bailey will lead a Bible Study during the summer monthly meetings (July 14 & August 11) from 6-8 pm in Fellowship Hall. The Bible Study is called, Breathe, Making Room for Sabbath, by Priscilla Shirer. Call the Church Office for information. Childcare is available (with reservation Sunday prior to meeting).

Fifty-Five+ Ministry

Game Night | Thursday, August 4, 6 pm
Tickets are $5. They will be sold July 24 & 31.

Budget Planning for FY 22-23

We will begin planning for the upcoming fiscal year in the next few weeks. If you would like to give input or submit a recommendation, contact Jeff Fitzhugh. Committees and Ministry Teams should submit recommendations by Sunday, July 24.

Body Recall

Each week on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday we offer a class that emphasizes strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination. The class is led by Jimmie Buchanan, our local Body Recall expert.9 am in FLC.
