Weekly Prayer Focus (6)

By Rebecca Clopp

 MONDAY

“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord.”

‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭15‬:‭58‬ ‭NASB

Nothing we do is in vain because of the resurrection! If we can maintain a heavenly perspective, we will understand that we often will not see the good that results from our efforts. If we truly believe that Christ has won the ultimate victory, that fact must affect the way we live now. Every day pray and ask the Lord to direct you for His will to be done. After you talk to God be aware, be ready, be obedient. Do the good that He has called you to do. Meditate, memorize, pray then get up and go. Remember, you are called according to His purpose for eternal results. (Life Application Study Bible.)

“Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.”

1 Corinthians‬ ‭15‬:‭58‬ ‭NIV‬‬

‭‭“Let all that you do be done in love.”

1 Corinthians‬ ‭16‬:‭14‬ ‭NASB

PRAY before you  GO!

  TUESDAY

 Pray before you GO

“And He said to them, “GO into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.”

Mark‬ ‭16‬:‭15‬ ‭NASB

‭‭“And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.

GO therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,

teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

Matthew‬ ‭28‬:‭18‬-‭20‬ ‭NASB

‭‭

“but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.”

‭‭Acts‬ ‭1‬:‭8‬ ‭NASB

GO and your STORY

What The Lord has done for you!

 WEDNESDAY

“Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me.

In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I GO to prepare a place for you.

If I GO and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also.

And you know the way where I am going.”

Thomas *said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, how do we know the way?”

Jesus *said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.”

This is one of the most basic and important passages in Scripture. How can we know the way to God? ONLY Through JESUS !

Jesus is the way because He is both God and man. By uniting our lives with His, we become united with Father God. ADMIT to God you a sinner—BELIEVE Jesus is God’s Son and ask and receive His forgiveness— CONFESS your faith in Jesus as savior and Lord. ( Life Application Study Bible. )

Knowing JESUS —pray and He will enable you to GO and share your faith with others.

 THURSDAY

“Whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

“If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it.

“ If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.”

John‬ ‭14‬:‭13‬-‭15‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

‭‭“I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever;

that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you.

“I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. After a little while the world will no longer see Me, but you will see Me; because I live, you will live also.

In that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you.

He who has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me; and he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and will disclose Myself to him.”

‭‭John‬ ‭14‬:‭16‬-‭21‬ ‭NASB

“These things I have spoken to you while abiding with you.

But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.

John 14:25-26

The Holy Spirit is the very presence of God within all believers, helping to live as God wants and building Christ’s church on earth.

FRIDAY

Jesus Teaches about the Holy Spirit

“But now I am going to Him who sent Me; and none of you asks Me, ‘Where are You going?’

But because I have said these things to you, sorrow has filled your heart.

But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you.

And He, when He comes, will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment; concerning sin, because they do not believe in Me;

and concerning righteousness, because I go to the Father and you no longer see Me;

and concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world has been judged.

“I have many more things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now.

But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come.

He will glorify Me, for He will take of Mine and will disclose it to you.

All things that the Father has are Mine; therefore I said that He takes of Mine and will disclose it to you.”

‭‭John‬ ‭16‬:‭5‬-‭15‬ ‭NASB

Unless Jesus did what He came to do, there would be no gospel. If He did not die, He could not remove our sins. He could not rise again and defeat death. If He did not Go back to the Father, the Holy Spirit would not come. Christ leaving meant he could be present to the whole world through the Holy Spirit. Now we can have a relationship with God.

SATURDAY

Jesus Prays for Future Believers

“I do not ask on behalf of these alone, but for those also who believe in Me through their word; that they may all be one; even as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me. The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one; I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me. Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given Me, be with Me where I am, so that they may see My glory which You have given Me, for You loved Me before the foundation of the world. “O righteous Father, although the world has not known You, yet I have known You; and these have known that You sent Me; and I have made Your name known to them, and will make it known, so that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them.”

‭‭John‬ ‭17‬:‭20‬-‭26‬ ‭NASB

Are you praying for unity of the body of Christ and the church? Exalt Christ, give , serve , share , care trust and obey. Knowing that Jesus prayed for us should give every believer confidence as we abide in His will.

SUNDAY

OUR GREAT SAVIOR

1 Jesus! what a Friend for sinners!

Jesus! Lover of my soul;

Friends may fail me, foes assail me,

He, my Savior, makes me whole.

Refrain:

Hallelujah! what a Savior!

Hallelujah! what a Friend!

Saving, helping, keeping, loving,

He is with me to the end.

2 Jesus! what a Strength for weakness!

Let me hide myself in Him;

Tempted, tried, and sometimes failing,

He, my Strength, my vict’ry wins. [Refrain]

3 Jesus! what a Help in sorrow!

While the billows o’er me roll,

Even when my heart is breaking,

He, my Comfort, helps my soul. [Refrain]

4 Jesus! I do now receive Him,

More than all in Him I find,

He has granted me forgiveness,

I am His, and He is mine. [Refrain]

J. Wilbur Chapman 1910

“Yet I have been the Lord your God Since the land of Egypt; And you were not to know any god except Me, For there is no savior besides Me.”
