Weekly Prayer Focus (5)

Prayer

By Rebecca Clopp

MONDAY

Meditate and memorize this Scripture. Let this be in you and on your heart. Trust and Obey!

“For lack of wood the fire goes out, And where there is no whisperer, contention quiets down.

‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭26‬:‭20‬ NASB

Talking about every little irritation or piece of gossip only keeps the fires of anger going. Refusing to discuss them cuts the fuel line and makes the fire go out. Does someone continually irritate you? Decide not to complain about the person and see if your irritation goes away for lack of fuel. ( Life Application Study Bible )

“Without wood a fire goes out; without a gossip a quarrel dies down.”

Proverbs‬ ‭26‬:‭20‬ ‭NIV‬‬

‭‭Pray over what you learned today!

 TUESDAY

 Meditate and memorize LUKE 14:11

“For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.”

‭‭Luke‬ ‭14‬:‭11‬ ‭NASB

How can we humble ourselves? Truly humble people compare themselves only with Christ, realize their sinfulness, and understand their limitations. On the other hand, they also recognize their gifts and strengths and are willing to use them as Christ directs. Humility is a realistic assessment and commitment to serve others. ( Life Application Study Bible )

“For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.”

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭23‬:‭12‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Spend time praying and living His word.

“Humble yourselves in the presence of the Lord, and He will exalt you.”

‭‭James‬ ‭4‬:‭10‬ ‭NASB

“A man’s pride will bring him low, But a humble spirit will obtain honor.”

Proverbs‬ ‭29‬:‭23‬ ‭NASB

‭‭WEDNESDAY

FAITHFUL FEW

 The book of remembrance

“Then those who feared the Lord spoke to one another, and the Lord gave attention and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before Him for those who fear the Lord and who esteem His name.

“They will be Mine,” says the Lord of hosts, “on the day that I prepare My own possession, and I will spare them as a man spares his own son who serves him.”

So you will again distinguish between the righteous and the wicked, between one who serves God and one who does not serve Him.”

‭‭Malachi‬ ‭3‬:‭16‬-‭18‬ ‭NASB

The “book of remembrance “ May or may not be an actual book. The point is that God will remember those who remain faithful to him, and who love, fear, honor and obey Him.

God’s treasured possessions are those faithful to Him. This fulfills the promise He made in the covenant to His people ( Exodus 19:5) According to 1 Peter 2:9 believers are God’s treasured possession. Have you committed your life to God for safekeeping? ( Life Application Study Bible )

“Now then, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be My own possession among all the peoples, for all the earth is Mine;”

‭‭Exodus‬ ‭19‬:‭5‬ ‭NASB

“But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;”

1 Peter‬ ‭2‬:‭9‬ ‭NASB

Meditate , Memorize, Pray over

 THURSDAY

“Therefore repent and return, so that your sins may be wiped away, in order that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord;”‭‭

‭‭Acts‬ ‭3‬:‭19‬ ‭NASB

Place this scripture in your heart and keep it daily on your mind.

To be identified with Christ we must daily repent and turn from sin. The keys of forgiveness are on a special ring called confess. Trust and obedience to God is the only way to have a relationship with the savior.

FRIDAY

Mighty To Save

Everyone needs compassion
Love that is never failing
Let mercy fall on me
Everyone needs forgiveness
The kindness of a Saviour
The hope of the nations

[Chorus]
Saviour He can move the mountains
My God is mighty to save
He is mighty to save
Forever author of salvation
He rose and conquered the grave
Jesus conquered the grave

So take me as You find me
All my fears and failures
Fill my life again
I give my life to follow
Everything I believe in
Now surrender no

[Chorus]
Shine Your light and
Let the whole world see
Were singing
For the glory of the risen King
Jesus
Shine Your light and
Let the whole world see
We re singing
For the glory of the risen King

[Chorus 2x]

Shine Your light and
Let the whole world see
We re singing
For the glory of the risen King
Jesus
Shine Your light and
Let the whole world see
Were singing
For the glory of the risen King

SATURDAY

JESUS THE EXAMPLE

“Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,

fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

For consider Him who has endured such hostility by sinners against Himself, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.”

Hebrews‬ ‭12‬:‭1‬-‭3‬ ‭NASB

‭‭  Stay Faithful do not lose heart !

Pray for the needs of others

SUNDAY

Be Imitators of God

“Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children; and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma.”

Ephesians‬ ‭5‬:‭1‬-‭2‬ ‭NASB

‭‭ Just as children imitate their parents, so we should imitate Christ. His great love for us led him to sacrifice himself so that we might live. Our love for others should be out of the same kind — a love that goes beyond affection to self-sacrificing service. ( Life Application Study Bible)

Let The Lord direct your steps each day before you go—Pray !
