Pastor’s Update: May 6, 2020 (COVID-19)

Pastor's Update, Worship

By admin

Dear FBC Family,

Exciting things are happening at the church! Please carefully read these updates for the week!

1) We are RE-LAUNCHING THIS SUNDAY WITH MORNING WORSHIP! If you feel safe and are ready to be with us, then we invite you to come! Remember, we will have two (2) services in English at 8:30am and 10:30am, and one (1) Spanish service at 10:30am. Carefully read this list of details and protocols. The 8:30am service requires a mask, and in the 10:30am it is recommended. Our capacity in the English service will be about 200. In the Spanish service, it will be about 100. There will be no Sunday School classes for now. (PS…Happy Mother’s Day!)

2) If you are not ready to be with us in person, we invite you to join us ONLINE FOR LIVE WORSHIP. Continue to worship remotely with us by connecting to Facebook or YouTube.

3) I want to remind you that this is the NATIONAL WEEK OF PRAYER. We are giving heavy emphasis to pray for the COVID-19 situation and our nation. Also, we are calling on FBC to pray for the planning of VBS this summer. Connect with these ideas.

4) As we slowly restart, our CHILDREN’S MINISTRY and STUDENT MINISTRY continue to go full steam ahead while online. Don’t neglect getting your teens and kids connected.

5) This week is also TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK! I want to personally thank all our Bible Study leaders at FBC as well as all of you who commit yourself to teaching in our public/private schools! We appreciate your investment in our children.

6) Make plans to join us on May 17 for SENIOR SUNDAY! We will be honoring the Class of 2020 and their families. It will be a wonderful day.

7) I am very proud of the GOOD NEWS CAFE! What a tremendous job we have done in feeding the hungry during the shut-down. Next week, we will eliminate the Thursday meal and move back to a Monday-only, drive-thru meal serving from 10-Noon.

See You Soon,
