We have established the procedures below to our part in keeping everyone healthy.

Our priority has always been and will continue to be the health and safety of your child and our volunteers.

This is an evolving set of procedures that will adapt and change as the circumstances change.

Nursery Care

Pre-Drop Off:

  • Volunteers Screened
    • Ask if they had any symptoms (screening form)
    • Temperature Check
    • If a volunteer has a fever or symptoms within the past 48 hours, they will be asked to go home.
  • Volunteers must wear a mask due to inability to physical distance while caring for kids.
  • All volunteers should thoroughly wash their hands upon arrival.
  • Rooms will be fully sanitized, tables, chairs, toys, countertops, restrooms, etc.
  • Limited toys will be made available for each worship session as selected by the preschool director and or children’s minister.
  • Classes will be limited to 8 kids at a time to allow for physical distancing as best possible. These numbers may be adjusted down in younger classes to provide better care.
  • Hand sanitizer will be made available at drop-off locations
  • Only necessary volunteers will be allowed in the preschool area. No excess family members or friends should be in the preschool area.

Drop-Off:

  • Check-in volunteers will wear a mask & gloves.
  • One parent should drop off (the same parent should pick up)
  • Families will stand 6 feet apart as marked on the ground while waiting to check-in
  • A flow of traffic will be marked on the ground to prevent cross traffic in tight spaces
  • Check – in tablets will be manned by one person to limit commonly touched surfaces
  • At drop-off, parents will be asked if the child has shown any symptoms or had fever in the past 48 hours.
    • If yes, then the child will not be checked in
    • If no, then the temperature of the child will be taken with a touchless thermometer
    • If temperature is 99.0 or higher, we will take temperature under the tongue for a more accurate read
    • If the child has a fever under the tongue the child will not be checked in.
    • Temperatures will be documented on the Kids Check-in Chart and turned into the children’s minister.
  • Once the child is checked in parents will escort the child to the door of the classroom
  • No one other than the child and volunteers will be allowed in a classroom.
  • Diaper bags will be left in the hallway
    • Individual zip lock bags will be given to each child for spare diapers, wipes, and a bottle if needed. This bag can go into the classroom.

During the session:

  • Upon arrival Kids that are old enough should wash their hands or use a wet wipe to sanitize their hands.
  • We will do our best to keep kids spread out at tables and doing different activities, but there is no guarantee.
  • Any toy that comes in contact with any bodily secretion will be set aside and not played with the rest of that session. It will be thoroughly cleaned after the session.
  • No snacks will be given, (unless it medically needed). A bottled meal for an infant or young child can be given. In each case the parents will provide the meal or snack.
    • Volunteers should wash hands thoroughly before and after preparing and feeding a child.
  • Gloves will be used for all diaper changes. Also, a one-time use diaper pad will be used for each child. Volunteers should thoroughly wash hands in-between diaper changes.
  • Classes must maintain two adults at all time who have passed a background check and completed ministry safe training.
  • If a child begins to show symptoms of any illness or starts running a fever, the child will be isolated immediately, and parents will be notified to come pick up the child.
  • Parents must remain on the property while their child is in the care of First Baptist Corsicana.

Pick Up:

  • One parent or family member over the age of 16 will be allowed to pick up. (This should be the same parent who dropped off if possible.)
  • Parent must present the pick-up sticker
  • There will be a designated one way in, and one way out to prevent cross traffic
  • Parents need to wait 6 feet apart while picking up

Post Session:

  • All surfaces need to be cleaned and disinfected (including door and cabinet handles)
  • All supplies or toys used need to be cleaned and disinfected
  • Bathroom surfaces need to be disinfected
  • Floors need to be vacuumed
  • Volunteers should wash hands thoroughly

Kids Praise

Pre-Drop Off:

    • If a volunteer has a fever or symptoms within the past 48 hours, they will be asked to go home.
  • Volunteers must wear a mask due to inability to physical distance while caring for kids.
  • All volunteers should thoroughly wash their hands upon arrival.
  • Make sure all rooms have been disinfected including tables, chairs, toys, & craft supplies
  • Hand Sanitizer will be made available at the check-in location

Drop-Off:

  • Kids need to check-in before worship
  • Check-in volunteers will wear a mask & gloves.
  • Parents & kids waiting to be checked in will stand 6 feet apart as marked on the ground
  • Check – in tablets will be manned by one person to limit commonly touched surfaces
  • At drop-off, parents will be asked if the child has shown any symptoms or fever in the past 48 hours.
    • If yes, then the child will not be checked in

  • Once the child has been screened & checked-in they will sit with their parent during the music portion of worship and then will be dismissed to Kids Praise.
  • If the child did not check-in before worship, their parents will need escort them to Kids Praise and check them in at that point.

During Kids Praise:

  • Upon arriving kids needs to disinfect their hands with hand sanitizer or wash hands in the bathroom.
  • Kids will be physically distanced at 6 feet apart by family unit throughout the session.
  • If supplies are needed for an activity, they need to limited to family units as best possible. These should be pre-sorted.
  • Classes must maintain two adults at all time who have passed a background check and completed ministry safe training.
  • If a child begins to show symptoms of any illness or starts running a fever, the child will be isolated immediately, and parents will be notified to come pick up the child.
  • Parents must remain on the property while their child is in the care of the First Baptist Corsicana.
