Services celebrating Garry’s life will be held on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at 10:30 in the morning at the First Baptist Church of Corsicana, with Dr. Danny P. Reeves officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.

Obituary
Garry Wayne Rhodes, 67, went home to his Lord and Savior on March 6, 2021. Garry was born on December 14th, 1953 to his loving parents and longtime Corsicana residents, Johnny and Jo Ann Rhodes.
Garry was preceded in death by his father, Johnny Rhodes.
Garry worked alongside his father in Rhodes Construction from his teenage years through most of his adult life. Garry was a heavy equipment operator as well as a licensed realtor. In addition, Mr. Rhodes owned and operated Rhodes Insurance. He later worked for Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children until his retirement in December 2019.
Garry loved the Lord and answered His calling to be a deacon in the Baptist Church. When there was a need, Garry was quick to lend a hand. Whether it was a construction need or even someone’s personal situation, Garry was the first to offer help. It seems that he was always willing to fill the need. Garry helped everyone he could and was everyone’s “go to guy.” While working in Dallas, Garry made every effort to find out which patients were from Corsicana so that he could check on them, pray with them, and let them know he was there.
Garry had a deep love for his family. Pam was the love of his life and partner in their 43-year marriage. There is no doubt that his wife, daughter, granddaughter, and son-in-law were treasures to him. There will soon be an addition to the favorite list, a grandson.
Garry is survived by wife Pam Hand Rhodes, mother Jo Ann Rhodes, daughter Johanna Tanner, son-in-law Whit Tanner, granddaughter JoleighAnn Tanner, sister Leesa Ward, brother-in-law Kyle Ward, nephew Taylor Ward, niece Annalee Ward, and nephew Luke Ward.
