Pastor Search Committee
The list of the 30 final nominees for the Pastor Search Committee will be announced on Sunday September 28. The Personnel Committee will share more information regarding the details of the voting process during the Church Conference on Sunday, September 21.
We plan to contact members via Shelby on Monday, September 29 concerning the list of 30 nominees.
On Sunday, October 5 the election of the seven (7) members to serve on the Senior Pastor Search Committee will occur during a special called Church Conference that will be held at the end of the service, after the announcements. Deacons will assist by passing out the ballots during the announcements. This process will be the same for both services. The Spanish speaking congregation will have their election prior to Bro. Loyd’s sermon.
Those who are working in other areas (nursery workers, children’s church, security team, etc.) will have a chance to vote as well. Members of the Personnel Committee will be covering this.
Committee on Committees
We will vote on on the nominations for the Committee on Committees, at the Church Conference (Sunday, September 21). This committee helps fill positions on our standing committees. This committee typically does most of their work in November and December.
Budget Schedule
The budget for the new fiscal year will go into effect on October 1.

Hope Center Shower
Aug 3–Sep 7
We are sponsoring a shower for the Hope Center. You can pick up a flyer with gift ideas in the Welcome Center. Bring donations to the Welcome Center from now until September 7.

We are looking for additional compassionate, Christian team members to help with several roles; training is provided.
Needs include hospitality, small group discussion, promotion, and recruitment. Contact John or Donna Greenman for more information.
Good News Café
On Mondays, team members prepare and serve a free hot meal to people in our community, ministering and praying for those who attend. Meals are served from 11:00AM to 12:30PM.
Good News Cupboard
We provide a 24/7 cupboard to help those with basic food needs. Non-perishable items can be dropped off at the FLC at any time.
Team members check inventory levels and refill as needed.
Suggested items are tuna pouches, ramen cups, peanut butter.
Good News Club
Tuesday | Aug 26–Sep 23
Team members help lead a Bible club for various CISD elementary schools in the fall and spring. We begin with Fannin Elementary.

Safety Team
Team members work to provide a safe environment for church members during worship services and other church events.
Next Training: Sep 18 (Evacuation Techniques).
Media/Tech Ministry
Team members help coordinate tech support for worship services. You might help with lights, sound, or slide display.
Guest Services
We are looking for smiling faces to welcome families, students, and children to our facility. We need people to assist families with check-in, collect information from guests, and help guide visitors to the appropriate class or group.

Kidspraise
Offered at 11:00AM Service
Parents should register kids on the landing before service or when dismissed. Pick-up is on the 4th floor. Activity packets are also available for kids outside the Sanctuary doors.
We do not offer Kidspraise on last Sunday of the month (August 31).
Sunday School
9:45AM on the 2nd & 4th Floors
We have classes for children from birth to sixth grade. Register in the nursery (preschool kids) or on the 3rd Floor landing (elementary kids).
Cultivate28
Wednesday at 6:00PM
Cultivate 28 is a discipleship program for children that involves Bible skills, stories, missions, recreation, and choir all in one night each week.
Sign your kids in at the Welcome Center and the Cultivate 28 team will walk them to their class. For pick up, parents can drive through the circle drive and hand your guardian tag to the team, and we will bring your child to you!

We will return at approximately 4:00PM. Tickets at the gate $7 per person.
Sign-up in Welcome Center. $2 to ride the bus. This year only clear bags less than 9 x 10 x 12 inches can be taken in the gate.

The Daily ArticleMen’s Fall Retreat

Join us for a one-night event with men of many walks of life. There will be plenty of food, games, biblical teaching, and fellowship. Registration is $20.
Our Guest Speaker will be John Crowder, Pastor of FBC West.
Men’s Mystery Dinner

Join us once a month for dinner at a surprise location (within 45 minutes) where men can gather for food, conversation, and building relationships. This is scheduled for the 4th Thursday of every month.
