The purpose of the Good News Café is to show practical love by providing a hot meal in the name of Jesus Christ.
History
The Good News Café was started at First Baptist Church in March of 2009. It was based on the Gospel Café, a ministry of CrossTies Ecumenical Church in Waco, Texas.
Our church realized that there was a need to help many in the community who struggle making ends meet. Under the leadership of Bob & Donna O’Toole, the church began using resources available, a willing core of volunteers, an air-conditioned environment, to provide meals on a weekly basis. The café owes its continued success to dedicated volunteers from the church and community.
