Next Sunday, October 5 the election of the seven (7) members to serve on the Senior Pastor Search Committee will occur at the end of the service, after the announcements. Deacons will assist by passing out the ballots during the announcements. This process will be the same for both services. Our Spanish speaking congregation will have their election prior to Bro. Loyd’s sermon.
Those who are working in other areas (nursery workers, children’s church, security team, etc.) will have a chance to vote as well.

This past week we elected the following individuals to serve on the Committee on Committees: Armando Arroyo, Jason Payne, Cindy Williams, and Pattie Woodall. This committee helps fill positions on our standing committees.

Tuesday @ 6:00PM
We are looking for additional compassionate, Christian team members to help with several roles; training is provided.
Needs include hospitality, small group discussion, promotion, and recruitment. Contact John or Donna Greenman for more information.
Good News Café
On Mondays, team members prepare and serve a free hot meal to people in our community, ministering and praying for those who attend. Meals are served from 11:00AM to 12:30PM.
Good News Cupboard
We provide a 24/7 cupboard to help those with basic food needs. Non-perishable items can be dropped off at the FLC at any time.
Team members check inventory levels and refill as needed.
Suggested items are tuna pouches, ramen cups, peanut butter.
Good News Club
Tuesday | Aug 26–Sep 23
Team members help lead a Bible club for various CISD elementary schools in the fall and spring. We begin with Fannin Elementary.

Media/Tech Ministry
Team members help coordinate tech support for worship services. You might help with lights, sound, or slide display.
Safety Team
Team members work to provide a safe environment for church members during worship services and other church events.
Guest Services
We are looking for smiling faces to welcome families, students, and children to our facility. We need people to assist families with check-in, collect information from guests, and help guide visitors to the appropriate class or group.

Kidspraise
Offered at 11:00AM Service
Parents should register kids on the landing before service or when dismissed. Pick-up is on the 4th floor. Activity packets are also available for kids outside the Sanctuary doors.
Note. We do not offer Kidspraise on fourth Sunday of the month. We encourage families to worship together.
Cultivate28
Wednesday at 6:00PM
Cultivate 28 is a discipleship program for children that involves Bible skills, stories, missions, recreation, and choir all in one night each week.
Sign your kids in at the Welcome Center and the Cultivate 28 team will walk them to their class. For pick up, parents can drive through the circle drive and hand your guardian tag to the team, and we will bring your child to you!

Three times a week (M-W-F) we offer a class that emphasizes strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination. The class meets in the Family Life Center and is led by Jimmie Buchanan.
STATE FAIR OF TEXAS

We will return at approximately 4:00PM. Tickets at the gate $7 per person.
Sign-up in Welcome Center. $2 to ride the bus. This year only clear bags less than 9 x 10 x 12 inches can be taken in the gate.

The Daily ArticleMen’s Fall Retreat

Join us for a one-night event with men of many walks of life. There will be plenty of food, games, biblical teaching, and fellowship. Registration is $20.
Our Guest Speaker will be John Crowder, Pastor of FBC West.
