Brother Paul
We welcome Brother Paul who was unanimously selected last Sunday evening as our Interim Pastor. He got started this past week. Please be in prayer for our staff and Brother Paul as he helps us transition to a new Pastor.
Pastor Search Committee
The deadline to submit nomination cards was Sunday, August 24. The Personnel Committee will now process these nominations so that they can produce a ballot. When the ballot is ready it will be inserted into the Worship Guide. One week after the ballot is published, we will have the election for the Pastor Search Committee.
Committee on Committees (Open until Sept. 14):
We are now receiving nominations for the Committee on Committees, which helps fill positions on our standing committees. You may submit nominations to the Church Office through Sunday, September 14. Please make sure to confirm with anyone you nominate that they will be able to serve. This committee typically does most of their work in November and December.
Budget Schedule
We reviewed the proposed budget for the 2025-26 fiscal year at the conference this past sunday evening. The formal vote on the budget will take place during a Special Called Conference on Sunday, September 7, immediately following the morning worship service. This meeting will be for the vote only, with no additional discussion. If approved, the new budget will go into effect on October 1.
We will be voting on the General Operations budget, property designations from two trust funds, and special designations to missions.

Hope Center Shower

We are sponsoring a shower for the Hope Center. You can pick up a flyer with gift ideas in the Welcome Center. Bring donations to the Welcome Center from now until September 7.

We are looking for additional compassionate, Christian team members to help with several roles; training is provided.
Needs include hospitality, small group discussion, promotion, and recruitment. Contact John or Donna Greenman for more information.
Good News Café
On Mondays, team members prepare and serve a free hot meal to people in our community, ministering and praying for those who attend. Meals are served from 11:00AM to 12:30PM.
Good News Cupboard
We provide a 24/7 cupboard to help those with basic food needs. Non-perishable items can be dropped off at the FLC at any time.
Team members check inventory levels and refill as needed.
Suggested items are tuna pouches, ramen cups, peanut butter.
Good News Club

Team members help lead a Bible club for various CISD elementary schools in the fall and spring. We begin with Fannin Elementary.

Safety Team
Team members work to provide a safe environment for church members during worship services and other church events.
Next Training: Sep 18 (Evacuation Techniques).
Media/Tech Ministry
Team members help coordinate tech support for worship services. You might help with lights, sound, or slide display.
Guest Services
We are looking for smiling faces to welcome families, students, and children to our facility. We need people to assist families with check-in, collect information from guests, and help guide visitors to the appropriate class or group.

Offered at 11:00AM Service
Parents should register kids on the landing before service or when dismissed. Pick-up is on the 4th floor. Activity packets are also available for kids outside the Sanctuary doors.
We do not offer Kidspraise on last Sunday of the month (August 31).

We have classes for children from birth to sixth grade. Register in the nursery (preschool kids) or on the 3rd Floor landing (elementary kids).
Cultivate28
Wednesday at 6:00PM
Cultivate 28 is a discipleship program for children that involves Bible skills, stories, missions, recreation, and choir all in one night each week.
Sign your kids in at the Welcome Center and the Cultivate 28 team will walk them to their class. For pick up, parents can drive through the circle drive and hand your guardian tag to the team, and we will bring your child to you!

Join us for a one-night event with men of many walks of life. There will be plenty of food, games, biblical teaching, and fellowship. Registration is $20.

Join us once a month for dinner at a surprise location (within 45 minutes) where men can gather for food, conversation, and building relationships. This is scheduled for the 4th Thursday of every month.
