    MONDAY

    TEMPTATION

“No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it.”‭‭

    1 Corinthians‬ ‭10‬:‭13‬ ‭NASB

Paul gave strong encouragement to the Corinthians about temptation. He said (1) wrong desires happen to everyone. Any temptation can be resisted because God will help you resist it. God helps you recognize people and situations that give you trouble. Turn and run the other way when you know something is wrong. Make up your mind and choose to do right. Pray for God’s help and seek friends that have a genuine walk with Christ. Friends that can give wise counsel. Daily, ask The Lord to give you victory!

“My son, if sinners entice you, Do not consent.”

    Proverbs‬ ‭1‬:‭10‬ ‭NASB

“Pray, then, in this way: ‘Our Father who is in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done, On earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And do not lead us into TEMPTATION, but deliver us from evil. [For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.’]‭‭

    Matthew‬ ‭6‬:‭9‬-‭13‬ ‭NASB

    Psalms‬ ‭119‬:‭129‬-‭130‬ ‭NASB

‭“Every word of God is tested; He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him. Do not add to His words Or He will reprove you, and you will be proved a liar.”

    THURSDAY

    WORD OF TRUTH

“Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth.”

    ‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭2‬:‭15‬ ‭NASB

“For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are open and laid bare to the eyes of Him with whom we have to do.”

    ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭4‬:‭12‬-‭13‬ ‭NASB

“Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God.”‭‭

    Colossians‬ ‭3‬:‭16‬ ‭NASB

     FRIDAY

    SPOKE FROM GOD

“So we have the prophetic word made more sure, to which you do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star arises in your hearts. But know this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of one’s own interpretation, for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.”

    2 Peter‬ ‭1‬:‭19‬-‭21‬ ‭NASB

    WORD of GOD Speak

    SATURDAY

    WORRIES

“For this reason I say to you, do not be worried about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor for your body, as to what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they? And who of you by being worried can add a single hour to his life? And why are you worried about clothing? Observe how the lilies of the field grow; they do not toil nor do they spin, yet I say to you that not even Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not much more clothe you? You of little faith! Do not worry then, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear for clothing?’ For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.

But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

“So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6‬:‭25‬-‭34‬ ‭NASB

LAY ALL YOUR BURDENS DOWN AT HIS FEET !

    SUNDAY

Lord I Cast All My Cares Upon You

    Verse 1

When my cross is too heavy to carry,

When trials too hard to bear

I will lift mine eyes to mount Calvary where He died

Lord I leave every burden there

    Lord I cast all my cares upon You;

    I lay all of my burdens down at Your feet;

Anytime I don’t know what to do,

I will cast all my cares upon You.

    Verse 2

You can give all your heartache to Jesus

    He’s a faithful compassionate Friend

He’s the Master, the Savior and the Healer

    That you prayed for

Just look to mount Calvary and say

Burdens are lifted at Calvary, Calvary, Calvary.

All your burdens are lifted at Calvary

    Jesus is very near

Anytime I don’t know what to do,

I will cast all my cares upon You.

Jesus is Led Away to Be Crucified

“As the soldiers led him away, they seized Simon from Cyrene, who was on his way in from the country, and put the cross on him and made him carry it behind Jesus. A large number of people followed him, including women who mourned and wailed for him. Jesus turned and said to them, “Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for me; weep for yourselves and for your children. For the time will come when you will say, ‘Blessed are the childless women, the wombs that never bore and the breasts that never nursed!’ Then they will say to the mountains, “Fall on us!” and to the hills, “Cover us!”  “For if people do these things when the tree is green, what will happen when it is dry?” ‭‭

    Luke‬ ‭23:26-31‬ ‭NIV‬‬

    Tuesday

Jesus is nailed to the Cross

“Two other men, both criminals, were also led out with him to be executed. When they came to the place called the Skull, they crucified him there, along with the criminals—one on his right, the other on his left. Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” And they divided up his clothes by casting lots. The people stood watching, and the rulers even sneered at him. They said, “He saved others; let him save himself if he is God’s Messiah, the Chosen One.” The soldiers also came up and mocked him. They offered him wine vinegar and said, “If you are the king of the Jews, save yourself.” There was a written notice above him, which read: THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.

    Luke 23:32-38 NIV

    Wednesday

    Jesus Remembers

“One of the criminals who hung there hurled insults at him: “Aren’t you the Messiah? Save yourself and us!” But the other criminal rebuked him. “Don’t you fear God,” he said, “since you are under the same sentence? We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong.” Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.” ‬‬‭‭

    Luke‬ ‭23:39-42‬ ‭NIV

    Thursday

    Jesus Dies on the Cross

“It was now about noon, and darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon, for the sun stopped shining. And the curtain of the temple was torn in two. Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.” When he had said this, he breathed his last. The centurion, seeing what had happened, praised God and said, “Surely this was a righteous man.” When all the people who had gathered to witness this sight saw what took place, they beat their breasts and went away. But all those who knew him, including the women who had followed him from Galilee, stood at a distance, watching these things.” ‭‭‬‬

    Luke‬ ‭23:44-49‬ ‭NIV

Jesus is Laid in the Tomb

“Now there was a man named Joseph, a member of the Council, a good and upright man, who had not consented to their decision and action. He came from the Judean town of Arimathea, and he himself was waiting for the kingdom of God. Going to Pilate, he asked for Jesus’ body. Then he took it down, wrapped it in linen cloth and placed it in a tomb cut in the rock, one in which no one had yet been laid. It was Preparation Day, and the Sabbath was about to begin. The women who had come with Jesus from Galilee followed Joseph and saw the tomb and how his body was laid in it. Then they went home and prepared spices and perfumes. But they rested on the Sabbath in obedience to the commandment.” ‭‭

    Luke‬ ‭23:50-56‬ ‭NIV‬‬

    Saturday

    Jesus Rises from the Dead

“On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them. In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: ‘The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.’ ” Then they remembered his words. When they came back from the tomb, they told all these things to the Eleven and to all the others. It was Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and the others with them who told this to the apostles. But they did not believe the women, because their words seemed to them like nonsense. Peter, however, got up and ran to the tomb. Bending over, he saw the strips of linen lying by themselves, and he went away, wondering to himself what had happened.” ‭‭

    Luke‬ ‭24:1-12‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Jesus Appears to Two Believers Traveling on the Road

“Now that same day two of them were going to a village called Emmaus, about seven miles from Jerusalem. They were talking with each other about everything that had happened. As they talked and discussed these things with each other, Jesus himself came up and walked along with them; but they were kept from recognizing him. He asked them, “What are you discussing together as you walk along?” They stood still, their faces downcast. One of them, named Cleopas, asked him, “Are you the only one visiting Jerusalem who does not know the things that have happened there in these days?” “What things?” he asked. “About Jesus of Nazareth,” they replied. “He was a prophet, powerful in word and deed before God and all the people. The chief priests and our rulers handed him over to be sentenced to death, and they crucified him; but we had hoped that he was the one who was going to redeem Israel. And what is more, it is the third day since all this took place. In addition, some of our women amazed us. They went to the tomb early this morning but didn’t find his body. They came and told us that they had seen a vision of angels, who said he was alive. Then some of our companions went to the tomb and found it just as the women had said, but they did not see Jesus.” He said to them, “How foolish you are, and how slow to believe all that the prophets have spoken! Did not the Messiah have to suffer these things and then enter his glory?” And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself. As they approached the village to which they were going, Jesus continued on as if he were going farther. But they urged him strongly, “Stay with us, for it is nearly evening; the day is almost over.” So he went in to stay with them. When he was at the table with them, he took bread, gave thanks, broke it and began to give it to them. Then their eyes were opened and they recognized him, and he disappeared from their sight. They asked each other, “Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?” They got up and returned at once to Jerusalem. There they found the Eleven and those with them, assembled together and saying, “It is true! The Lord has risen and has appeared to Simon.” Then the two told what had happened on the way, and how Jesus was recognized by them when he broke the bread.” ‭‭

    Luke‬ ‭24:13-35‬ ‭NIV‬‬

    Sunday

Jesus Appears to the Disciples In Jerusalem

“He said to them, “This is what I told you while I was still with you: Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms.” Then he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures. He told them, “This is what is written: The Messiah will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, and repentance for the forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. You are witnesses of these things. I am going to send you what my Father has promised; but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high.” ‭‭

    Luke‬ ‭24:44-49‬ NIV

    Jesus Ascends into Heaven

“When he had led them out to the vicinity of Bethany, he lifted up his hands and blessed them. While he was blessing them, he left them and was taken up into heaven. Then they worshiped him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy. And they stayed continually at the temple, praising God.” ‭‭

    MONDAY

    DISCIPLINE

“In your struggle against sin, you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood. And have you completely forgotten this word of encouragement that addresses you as a father addresses his son?

It says, “My son, do not make light of the Lord’s discipline, and do not lose heart when he rebukes you, because the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and he chastens everyone he accepts as his son.” Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as his children.

For what children are not disciplined by their father? If you are not disciplined—and everyone undergoes discipline—then you are not legitimate, not true sons and daughters at all.

Moreover, we have all had human fathers who disciplined us and we respected them for it. How much more should we submit to the Father of spirits and live! They disciplined us for a little while as they thought best; but God disciplines us for our good, in order that we may share in his holiness.

No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.”

    LOVE for GOD

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.”

    ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭6‬:‭5‬ ‭ NIV

“The most important one,” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.” “Well said, teacher,” the man replied. “You are right in saying that God is one and there is no other but him. To love him with all your heart, with all your understanding and with all your strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself is more important than all burnt offerings and sacrifices.”

“How can a young man keep his way pure? By keeping it according to Your WORD. With all my heart I have sought You; Do not let me wander from Your commandments. Your WORD I have treasured in my heart, That I may not sin against You. Blessed are You, O Lord; Teach me Your statutes. With my lips I have told of All the ordinances of Your mouth. I have rejoiced in the way of Your testimonies, As much as in all riches. I will meditate on Your precepts And regard Your ways. I shall delight in Your statutes; I shall not forget Your WORD.”

  • Weekly Prayer Focus (15B)

    Monday

Pray for the salvation of those in leadership positions. Pray that they will surrender to the Lordship of Jesus Christ.

“First of all, then, I urge that requests, prayers, intercession, and thanksgiving be made in behalf of all people, for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself as a ransom for all, the testimony given at the proper time.” ‭‭

    MONDAY

“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord.”

    ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭15‬:‭58‬ ‭NASB

Nothing we do is in vain because of the resurrection! If we can maintain a heavenly perspective, we will understand that we often will not see the good that results from our efforts. If we truly believe that Christ has won the ultimate victory, that fact must affect the way we live now. Every day pray and ask the Lord to direct you for His will to be done. After you talk to God be aware, be ready, be obedient. Do the good that He has called you to do. Meditate, memorize, pray then get up and go. Remember, you are called according to His purpose for eternal results. (Life Application Study Bible.)“Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.”

‭‭“Let all that you do be done in love.”

    1 Corinthians‬ ‭16‬:‭14‬ ‭NASB

     TUESDAY

“And He said to them, “GO into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.”

    Mark‬ ‭16‬:‭15‬ ‭NASB

‭‭“And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. GO therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

    Matthew‬ ‭28‬:‭18‬-‭20‬ ‭NASB

“but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.”

    Acts‬ ‭1‬:‭8‬ ‭NASB

    WEDNESDAY

“Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me.

In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I GO to prepare a place for you.

If I GO and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also.

And you know the way where I am going.”

Thomas *said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, how do we know the way?”

Jesus *said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.”

This is one of the most basic and important passages in Scripture. How can we know the way to God? ONLY Through JESUS!

Jesus is the way because He is both God and man. By uniting our lives with His, we become united with Father God. ADMIT to God you a sinner—BELIEVE Jesus is God’s Son and ask and receive His forgiveness— CONFESS your faith in Jesus as savior and Lord. (Life Application Study Bible.)

‭Knowing JESUS —pray and He will enable you to GO and share your faith with others.

     THURSDAY

“Whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

“If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it.

“ If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.”

    John‬ ‭14‬:‭13‬-‭15‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

    ‭‭“I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever;
that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you.
“I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. After a little while the world will no longer see Me, but you will see Me; because I live, you will live also.
In that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you.
He who has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me; and he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and will disclose Myself to him.”

    John‬ ‭14‬:‭16‬-‭21‬ ‭NASB

“These things I have spoken to you while abiding with you.

But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.

    John 14:25-26

The Holy Spirit is the very presence of God within all believers, helping to live as God wants and building Christ’s church on earth.‭‭

    FRIDAY

“But now I am going to Him who sent Me; and none of you asks Me, ‘Where are You going?’

But because I have said these things to you, sorrow has filled your heart.

But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you.

    And He, when He comes, will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment; concerning sin, because they do not believe in Me;

    and concerning righteousness, because I go to the Father and you no longer see Me;

and concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world has been judged.

“I have many more things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now.

But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come.

He will glorify Me, for He will take of Mine and will disclose it to you.

All things that the Father has are Mine; therefore I said that He takes of Mine and will disclose it to you.”

    ‭‭John‬ ‭16‬:‭5‬-‭15‬ ‭NASB

Jesus Teaches about the Holy Spirit

Unless Jesus did what He came to do, there would be no gospel. If He did not die, He could not remove our sins. He could not rise again and defeat death. If He did not Go back to the Father, the Holy Spirit would not come. Christ leaving meant he could be present to the whole world through the Holy Spirit. Now we can have a relationship with God.

    Holy Spirit breath on Me

    SATURDAY

“I do not ask on behalf of these alone, but for those also who believe in Me through their word; that they may all be one; even as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me. The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one; I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me. Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given Me, be with Me where I am, so that they may see My glory which You have given Me, for You loved Me before the foundation of the world. “O righteous Father, although the world has not known You, yet I have known You; and these have known that You sent Me; and I have made Your name known to them, and will make it known, so that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them.”

    ‭‭John‬ ‭17‬:‭20‬-‭26‬ ‭NASB

    OUR GREAT SAVIOR

1 Jesus! what a Friend for sinners!

    Jesus! Lover of my soul;

Friends may fail me, foes assail me,

He, my Savior, makes me whole.

    Refrain:

    Hallelujah! what a Savior!

    Hallelujah! what a Friend!

    Saving, helping, keeping, loving,

He is with me to the end.

2 Jesus! what a Strength for weakness!

    Let me hide myself in Him;

    Tempted, tried, and sometimes failing,

He, my Strength, my vict’ry wins. [Refrain]

3 Jesus! what a Help in sorrow!

While the billows o’er me roll,

Even when my heart is breaking,

He, my Comfort, helps my soul. [Refrain]

4 Jesus! I do now receive Him,

More than all in Him I find,

    He has granted me forgiveness,

I am His, and He is mine. [Refrain]
