General Objective

Perform administrative and clerical duties to support ministerial staff.

Purpose

To use administrative, creative, and organization skills to help First Baptist Church carry out its mission and vision.

Reports to:

Pastor and Minister of Administration

Desirable Qualifications:

…Demonstrates a solid testimony of personal salvation through Jesus Christ and promotes a positive, Christian attitude in all work.
…Maintains a growing spiritual life with Christ through ongoing prayer, study of God’s Word and service to others.
…Demonstrates a high level of administrative, creative, and organizational skills.
…Has a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of three years experience in related work.
…Has the ability to listen and to communicate clearly, both orally and in written form.
…Has excellent interpersonal skills.
…Competent with computers, software, and other office equipment necessary to perform job functions.
…Has sufficient good health to discharge duties properly with or without reasonable accommodations.
…Passes a criminal, financial, and driving background check as well as a drug screening.
…Complies with all applicable federal and state laws.

Job Responsibilities:

…Keep attendance records and compile these into appropriate scheduled reports.
…Maintain membership records including contact information, service records, decisions, baptisms, anniversaries, etc.
…Maintain prayer requests for hospital, surgeries, deaths, births and other concerns.
…Order and maintain supplies for custodial, office, kitchen, and worship use.
…Order literature and other discipleship materials.
…Perform duties such as taking minutes, preparing agendas and reports as necessary.
…Work with church ministry teams and committees to aid their ministry effectiveness.
…Coordinate church calendar including reservations and the use of facilities and vehicles.
…Help with incoming phone calls and reception of visitors.
…Help prepare newsletters and other church communications.
…Assist in scheduling travel arrangements for church trips and staff conferences.
…Review, open and distribute mail as necessary.
…Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
…Comply with all established church policies and procedures.
…Be prepared to perform outside of this job description in any way the pastor deems necessary.
