First Baptist Church is currently seeking someone to fill the position of Minister of Music/Worship. Those interested should send a resume to our Music/Worship Search Committee.
To coordinate and plan the church music program and worship for First Baptist Church.
The Minister of Music/Worship will lead a ministry that includes praise teams, choirs, and various other music programs. The purpose of the Music/Worship Ministry is to lead the entire congregation to glorify God by proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus through musical worship.

…Maintains a growing spiritual life with Christ through ongoing prayer, study of God’s Word and service to others.
…Will support the traditional Baptist interpretation of the Bible as found in the 1963 Baptist Faith and Message.
…Has a minimum of 3 years experience as a Music/Worship Minister.
…Has a record of effective service in Music/Worship Ministry.
…Has a bachelor’s degree or higher in music from an accredited school.
…Is a seminary graduate.
…Has excellent interpersonal skills, effective speaking skills and the ability to speak confidently before groups.
…Demonstrates a high level of administrative, organizational and leadership skills.
…Has the ability to listen and communicate clearly, both orally and in written form.
…Is computer proficient or willing to learn computer software such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.
…Is in sufficient good health to discharge duties properly with or without reasonable accommodations.
…Passes a criminal, financial, and driving background check as well as a drug screening.
…Complies with all applicable federal and state laws.

…Prepare and implement an annual calendar of activities, to further the mission of the Music Ministry.
…Plan and prepare weekly Sunday worship services in conjunction with the Pastor.
…Work with the Hispanic worship leadership to support and develop their worship program.
…Facilitate in advertising music programs to the church and to the community.
…Attend weekly staff meetings.
…Prepare and implement an annual budget for the Music/Worship ministry.
…Serve alongside the other staff members harmoniously in leading First Baptist church to discern and do the will of God.
…Work with any assigned church ministry teams and committees to aid their ministry effectiveness.
…Engage in personal visitation and evangelism as assigned by the Pastor.
